Upgrading old laptop - hard drive and wireless thingy...

    where can i find a bios update john?

    just windows i think....the new card isnt an intel one.

    if you go to the manufacture website and browse thru the support section hopefull you'll be able to download it there :)

    Intel pro 2200 bg is an internal card, try downloading intel pro set
    software to setup wifi

    thats what WAS in the laptop, its the new one that wont work

    will have a look for that at some point this week john, cheers

    ok....HD in and all working

    still no joy on wireless card....no bios updates on acer website....and weirdly now i put old one back in it won't find that one either! unless thats due to other one being in when i reinstalled windows/etc when putting in new HD?

    If you've installed it correctly, it will always appear in the hardware devices.
    Click Start button, right click Computer, and click Manage. Then click on Device Manager. Are there any unknown devices in there?
