Uprating mk4 suspension

Looking to uprate my mk4's tired standard suspension, now I have been down the coilover route many times but as this is my girlfriends car as such I want to go down the shocks and springs route. What uprated shocks do people recommend? Was looking at bilstiens @ GSF etc but is there any other cheaper but still reputable ones about? Only looking at going down about 30mm or so,

Actually looking at the coilovers on Ebay (FK) they are pretty cheap for an all in one circa 175!

 

I put spax shocks and springs on mine just before christmas and there fab and would reccommend

 

don't put on FK coilovers...

 

I used prosport 3000 they were great

Sort out the bushes as well otherwise itll drive pretty terrible
