6WO3125 Anyone recognise the above number as an 8v Mk1 gearbox number. Its on ebay in the last couple of hours and i need a box for my 1.6 Gti for this weekend so need something suitable. Cheers
I am also looking for 1.6gli gearbox. I have been asking around to as what will fit. Did hav a problem where anything pre 1983 had a smaller driveshaft flange. But now all the drive shafts are the same size (the bigger size from post 1983) You may have to look at changing the flange etc if u get the wrong box. Code FF is a non gti box Code 7G is a gli and gti box Code 9a is also a gti box This is what someone told me today, I guess he is right? But gearbox info would be useful to me too!!
Well decided to bid and have won the item, fingers crossed it will be ok. In the pics it looks like a Mk1 box and he said it was off a Gti.
