    hello everyone,
i have just bought a vento tdi 90bhp,the car is a minter and only done 37000 miles, the guy who had it was an old boy who only drover 4500 miles per year.
there is a catch though, the diesel engine is very very noisy,so noisy that when i got home last night my ears were hurting.
the car sounds like there is no sound proofing, there is lots of vibration and resonance at low revs, the guy i bought it off say he had the belts changes by a toyota mechanic at the dealership where he works so i wondering if maybe the timing is slightly out or maybe if how the car has been driven all these years is to blame, can anybody help.

Sounds like the problem may be relaited to the cam belt change.

The valve timing is critical if you dont use the correct cam tool and slacken off the cam pulley to set the belt tension.
