VAG blinkers off......what would you buy?

    feel lucky (luckier), I'm starting to resent paying nearly a pound for a litre of derv.

    so would i, but if i was getting twice the mpg....well that's almost like paying half as much isn't it..

    true, but you're used to petrol (i assume)

    i haven't owned a petrol (properly) for over 7yrs.

    Christ, I'll be going bio diesel before I know it!

    I'd keep what you have if 1 litre of petrol costs you 1 and lasts 300 miles!! ;)

    On a serious note, if your still thinking, you can pick up a nice A4 quattro tdi for about that.

    Me mate's A4 2.5 TDI has a great engine, can't get it below 48mpg, and enough torque to pull a house down

    be a bigger job tho as it's inline, but 800gs had s4 engines in mk2s before, and it'd be proper quattro

    that new A5 tdi does 60 in 5.9, same engine in a mk4 would be rapid.

    A6 TDI gets my vote. Been in the 2.7TDI and I loved it!

    I'm about to buy a Jeep Grand Cherokee 4.0 High Output.

    Who needs fuel consumption when you can have raw power, leather, air con and a towing capcity in excess of three and a half tons!!
