Vag-com how to

Ive got vag cim working at last, but after searching like mad I can't find an how to guide on how to change options on my car!

I want to turn anti hijack on, alarm bleeps and window/ sunroof closing on key fob. I had a look just scared I maybe looking in wrong areas and may muck it up.

Can anyone point me in the right direction?

hmm i did the anti hijack alarrm chirp etc on my t plate.


think its in convenience module then adaptations

let me have a quick look

by the way it must be a full version of the software to do it, shareware wont do adaptations.

 

I think I have 409.1 - its a cracked copy given to me by a mate..

step 1 select 46 convinience

step 2 select 10 adaptations

step 3 click channel up an read the text.as in the screen shot auto lock,change the new value to 1 and press save. Anti hijack now enabled

as you cycle through the channels you will find more options to change.

Many thanks for this - looks simple.. found what I wanted to do.. however when I got to save it it says my vag com needs activating?!?! - funny as this cracked copy says it is activated! lol - oh well... guess I'll have to borrow mates laptop!!! - cheers for the help though!

 

cracks are crap, and often cause issues.

getting a new version of vag com this week so will try again either tomorrow or wednesday.
is there any other great stuff I can do to my golf with vag com?

 

I think anti hijack ,alarm chirp, change the sound of the alarm horn, is about all on our early ones.

 

Thats more or less it on the later ones as well !!!

rest of the goodstuff more using it a diagnostic, reading the various channels and trying to work out whatgoing on, and if thats normal!

prob not i think that will need the later spec cable, can-bus i think

you might be able to talk to the the engine ECU, as it can default back to the K-line

rest of units are can-bus

 

So need can bus cable but still use vag vom

 

basicly yes, I have Hex+Can ross tech cable running VCDS 10.6 (or is it now 7?)
