I tried connecting my Vento up to my mates vag-com and it kept saying "cannot communicate with controller" but if i disconnected the lead from the car it knew straight away "check com port" or whatever, no I know my ignition switch is a bit dicky and I have lost the live that you get when you just put the key in, could this be the problem? Hi Mike,
If you have the 2*2 diag connector (balck and white connectors - both 2 pin) make sure that you have 12v on the top black connector - if you dont you aint gonna talk to your car. I had a problem for ages with a duff serial cable - may be worthwhile checking that.
