Hello, does anyone have a diagram with the camshaft, crankshaft and fuel pump timing marks that they could post on the site?

I own a 1997 Golf Tdi, engine code AHU.

    Thanks, Dan

the crank markings are on the crank pully & gearbox inspection hole. the pump locks up with a larger diameter pin - 14mm'ish

I can't remember the cam pully, but if you mark the cam & all pullies before removing the belts all can go back as they came off

    Dan,

If 'AHU' is similar to its predecessor '1Z', the camshaft has a slot cut chord-wise across its tail end, which is just above the top surface of the head with the cam/valves at #1 Tdc, so that a locking plate can be fitted.

Thanks for the help, guys. The recessed slot in the end of the camshaft rings a bell actually, think I used a small 4 mm thick length of steel plate before now to lock it up, and a 10mm socket to lock the fuel pump. Such a cowboy....

    Thanks!!
