Very quick one: G60 gearbox...

    ... will it fit my mk2 16v?? (1992)

    Do i need new driveshafts etc??

    Found out that G60 has higher ratio's. Slow low end,fast top end.

    when you say fast top end, do you mean you are aiming for top speed?

    Higher ratios would make the car have a slower engine speed everywhere - great for cruising.

    Not sure if you need the gearbox for any specific reason but the g60 is cable change and the 16v is a rod change box - probably more hassle than it is worth since imho cable change feels worse...

    The box isn't for a specific reason. There was a G60 box on ebay for 46 current bid with 1hr 56m.

    Like you said, valvers have rod change and those things are cable with hydraulic clutch. I had someone who could have done the work for me. I need a new box anyway. Looking for a cheap option rather than $bill re-build. As always, if you need something doing properly, you have to pay top dollar. [xx(]
