About a couple of years ago my son bought a Vibra - Technics rear engine mount. It was always planned to fit this when the car was re-built. Like all rebuilds this has gone on far longer than planned.

I recently tried to fit the mount to a refurbished subframe only to find, on torqueing up, that first one then the other main mounting thread stripped when tightened up. I have no idea why as the theads were clean, copper slipped and a calibrated torque wrench was used to torque to 40nms in progressive stages. After speaking to Vibra - Technics the engine mount was sent back to them and they have repaired it ( two new proper inserts not helicoils ) and fitted the latest consul mounting plate. They turned it round in no more than one day.

This level of excellent service is, for me, a rarity these days.

Thank you Vibra-Technics. We all know who to buy our engine mounts from now don't we!

    Nick
