Volvo 5 pot

    I remember reading somewhere that certain companies use common components for engines. I think a really interesting conversion would be a ttrs engine in a mark one. Finding one for sale is nigh on impossible. Got me thinking about the 850 engine. Same in line 5 20v and 2.5 litre. Wonder if it would work and fit on vag gearbox.

    Fiat coupe engine is another 5 pot option, just an integrale with one extra cylider, comes with a slippy diff too.

    5 pots are very long so normally steering lock is poor

    Well I never, I always thought those Fiats were 4 pots! Every day's a school day!

    A mate currently has the horn for sticking a T5 engine and gearbox in his Corrado and he's definitely got the skills to pull it off.

    16v ones are 4 pot 20v ones are 5 pot, 5 pots are mega value at the mo

    Yeah I thought the 20v's were 4 pots, people rave about them too!

    I read the volvo engine was alloy block as well. Would equal out the weight of the larger engine. Are later volvo 4 wd haldex? Was just wondering if boxes are compatible?

    comes with a viscous coupling on the osf inner driveshaft,i worked on them for 14yrs ;)

    dont know about later engines but the 'old' volvo 5 pot was used in the Lts

    2.5 TDI's 5 pots

    AET Engine code Volvo V70's (VAG Lump) 150bhp

    VW T4's had the ACV Lump same but lower power 102bhp

    but only s3 gearbox?Which other diesel engine gearbox fit?

    One if my mates has put a T5 into the back of a yaris (autograss), it's flippin mental!!!!
