    Hello,

I am interested in buying a GTI 1.8T or GTI VR6, but I am not sure which one is better. So I decided, I should ask some of you guys for help ;) .

I am willing to spend a MAX of $2,000 for modifications, anything less than $1,500 would be awesome!

I want to improve the 1/4 mile time and 0-60mph.
    1/4 around low 14's. (14.0-14.3)
    0-60 mph around high 5's (5.6-5.9)

Here are the things I came up with:
    Intake
    ECU
    Catback Exhaust System

    Thanks,
    Patrick

You need to go to VWVortex for US car q's really.

You'll get the same answer everywhere, though: A tuned 1.8T will blow the doors off a tuned VR6, but for everyday driving the VR will have torque on demand and good throttle response, whereas the tuned 1.8T will have numb response a lag...If you're purely interested in performance figures (which you shouldn't be) then the 1.8T is the motor for you

14s quarters in an a4 chassis will need a lot of power, it'll need at least a k04 turbo
