had a tdi 100bhp as a company car, and really liked it. Was a highline, leather etc. Good torque even from the lesser powered diesel. Comfortable but not much room in the back.

Mate had one that kept letting in water.
Never did get it sorted despite several attempts by VW dealers.
    Sold it in the end.

    Front footwell at passenger side.
So if it is a silver tdi let me know and I will find out if it was his
Another dislike ,that Rich pointed out, was lack of room in rear.
Other than that he did like the car for everything else.

IIRC that fault is covered on honest johns website, bulkhead drains blocked, or similar iirc

    I tested a 180bhp 1.8T Sport.

Looked nice but other tan that, not good.
Dated, engine sounded like a diesel, didn't feel anywhere near 180bhp, handled very badly, had terrible wood in the inside, service was dire and it was overpiced.
I drove a not too dissimilar Octavia vRS afterwards and considering how similar they should be, the vRS was LOADS better - Handled bettr, felt a lot quicker, etc.
