I've been wanting to fit a W8 interior light to my Golf MK4 for some time now, the one with red ambient LED's. I could never justify the cost of them both new and used in the UK, so £25 on AliExpress and a few weeks later we have this... I spoke with the seller beforehand and they assured me its real, and looking at it now I'm pretty convinced. I'm not sure what the story is with these but it has the correct VW markings, the "SOCOP" branding, and feels really nice. Some of the soldering is a bit questionable, but I think a lot of VAG electronics are like this anyway. Not sure if its actually from a dealer, or is some collection of "lost" genuine parts that are assembled by a third party. Either way I'm very happy with it! If someone has seen a real one and could compare that would be great

Many parts are produced there and I expect are sold sold by the VW group outside the country too, as well as by Chinese businesses through ali express and ebay. yeah will be for some china market model I expect, some reet bargains to be had if parts you need are also used on china cars. can get whole 020 gearboxes brand new for peanuts, but the delivery charge is a little much got a big bag of german 020 syncromesh gears from china a long while back plus a few other bits and bobs for nowt
Probably is genuine then! hahah yeah I imagine, got a few NLA bits too from there, stuff like the elastic bands for the airbox and the shifter shaft boot. Obviously not genuine in that case but work exactly the same
