I'm after some of this tubing Just wanted to save a little and wondered if any generic ID 4mm hose would be good enough? That chap knows how to charge for parts (ask me how I know) - I'm pretty sure you don't need the specific VW part, any hose should do if you get the I.D. correct and a proper snug fitting on it - they or the hose do have a tendency to part company every now and then so it needs to be snug.
Others on eBay have it a little cheaper like vw heritage @ £2.90 MK2 GOLF Hose connector 4x30 - 443955665 | eBay Seems to be 4mm inner dia and 30mm long. I'm sure 1m of this stuff is around £4 Can't work out if its reinforced or not...
Unless you're in dire need of a meter of piping - I would just get the VWH one - they're might even be a discount if you join CGTI but that's your call. At least that way it's the right size and you're not stuck with something that doesn't work/you don't need
its 1.78+VAT from the dealer or TPS. used on MK4 golf as well. On mine I just replaced all the hose with MK3 golf, much nicer black stuff. though scrappy not so easy to get into at the moment...
Althought I started this thread, I am wondereing if this part is even needed? doesn't the washer tubing just sit tight over the connections...
it goes between the hard plastic tubing and the jets, t piece, washer pump. its nothing special, just a bit of rubber hose
As long as it's a snug fit you can use anything. I have used hose for aquarium air pumps plenty of times. Go to your local garden centre that has a fish department and get what you need.
