Wasted spark megasquirt rev counter on mk1/2

    hello all, i just made a loom for peterg60 on here and his rev counter doesnt work. i used this diagram:

    now i assumed i could fit the diodes any way as no-one mentioned that they had to be installed a particular way round, was this wrong? also toyotec mentions in a recent thread that the zener diode isnt actually required, is this true?

    The Zener isn't required. However, the orientation of the other two diodes are very important as they are effectively likea a one way valve if you see what I mean. The thick white band on one end of the diode reffers to the line at the end of the triangle on the schematic diagram.

    ive done a few of these and without the zener they dont work ?
