    Hi all

I’ve got a water leak drivers side front.
It’s dripping down onto the fuse box. The highest point of the drip I can see is just above the large brown circle earthing ?junction?
I’ve cleaned out the scuttle area. Also had new windscreen fitted to see if that helps but no luck.
    Not a sunroof model.
are there any other areas to check?
cAr will be dead if I don’t find it

With the windscreen replaced you need a new seal, the one on heritage is good, fitted recently on my jetta.
Had the same leak after replacing windscreen, bought a cheaper seal and still leaked.

    Hi thanks for the reply.
Without sounding dumb what seal are you talking about?
The only seals I have in the area are the scuttle/rain tray and the large strip seal that runs along scuttle under the bonnet

Your windscreen is glued in? Mine is the rope-in type.

yeah mk3 are glued in, mk2 are (normally) rope-in
theres a blank plate on the driver side where the LHD blower vent woudl go, this can sometimes become unstuck from the firewall so thats worth a look. might have some unseen rust in scuttle or behind the wing worst case

I’ve got the wing off to try and see and all looks good from what I can see.

is that a dash out job to get the the LHD blower vent?

I’ve run out of space to put stuff while the car is stripped to dry it all out.

the water leak caused the alarm to drop all windows one night while it rained all night long.

no you should have good access with the bonnet open, though the mk3 may have a load of plastic trims covering the scuttle you have to remove first not sure off hand
