weber carb setting up and ajustments

hi there recently changed my engine from a 1985 1.3 to a 1990 1.3....swapped over my weber.....and i think it needs setting up....Symptom-fires then a sharp bang and smoke out the top of the weber...?!...any suggestions to do this(im sure its probably a well covered topic)

 

im having a long discussion regarding this with someone atm via pms on another board, ill post some results.. i could tell you the standard jettings you need.. might be worth putting new in then going and getting it tuned up properly?

 

sounds like a timing problem to me

 

just to get her running would be a very good start if it is the timing how can i check if she doesn't run?

First thing to do is check you've got all the HT leads going from the correct connections on the distributor cap to the correct plugs.

ignition timing was a wee out!!
