got a mk2 golf 1.8 driver with a webber carb on it,

the car has a bit of a problem starting have to crank the engine for a good 5-6 seconds before it will even think about firing. Once its started it is super smelly with a real strong smell of petrol from exhaust.

what screws do i need to twiddle or bits to check to try and improve the starting situation, if any ones got any pictures of screw locations that would be good too.

thanks for any help any one can give me

Indeed it is, in a little recess, it's quite small.
