Having trouble with a new weber 32/34 dtml carb for my 1.6 golf mk2.
Was running fine for a few days then it started hesitating and bunny hopping

It idles fine and will run fine up to about 2000rpm then it starts to hesitate and if i lift off the accelerator it stalls.
I have changed the fuel filter and the dizzy cap and cleaned with carb cleaner and no luck.
The problem goes away if the choke is left open.
I checked the running with air filter off and the choke is fully open all the time is this right?

choke should fully open once the engine has warmed a little yes

sounds like maybe its gone out of ajustment...try playing with the mixture screw a bit , as a guide it should be roughly 1.5 turns out try it 1/4 more and so on

wind the mixture screw out anti-clockwise) (lefty-loosey) 1/4 turn

    then drive to test

and if that doesnt work .. repeat

    seems to make it better.
But when it gets to 2000 revs it starts hesitating still and makes a sucking noise.
If i rev it, it does after a slight delay. If i stop then it will idle but if it is held then it stalls

Blasted through the main jets with carb cleaner and it revs cleanly now!
Will take it out for a drive later but that seems to have done it.

    Thanks very much :)
