    hi
after replacing the accelerator cable, sometimes the throttle doesn't go fully back, so the revs stay high and i have to move it by hand.
    any ideas?

well, i checked it out today and apparently the cable is sticking: close to the hook there's a white cone that enters a green barrel, and it sticks there, maybe cos' it's roughly finished. although it's a brand new oem cable that cost an arm and a leg.[:^(]
i can get it cheap from gsf, but my car is lhd, and gsf's cables are for rhd and 30cm longer. will the extra length cause any trouble?

I wondered if yours was an automatic too, because they have a much more complicated connection to the carburettor with a telescopic section. But it doesn't matter if yours is manual.:)

... ive never experienced a sticking throttle cable...

as there is a spring on the carb, that should pull the throttle butterfly closed again.... maybe the spring has stretched?... try that before you go buying new throttle cables matey... you never know[:D]
