Hey, how's it going? Anyway, friend of mine at work has an 09 golf gti, got it 6 weeks ago from a Strathstone garage. He's noticed a strange him at full lock in 1st and in reverse. He took it to a main dealer, they advised it may need a new catch, and also there is a sight noise from the timing chain at start up. The car has done 40k, they've quoted 1.2k for the clutch, they seem think 600 to strip it down and that hey might end up replacing it, and another 1k or so for timing chain. Is this even likely? Are there any known faults with the 09 gti, and does this noise sound like it could even be the clutch? Any thoughts welcome! Thanks!
