I thought a Vulcan was a big bomber. That one says Royal Navy on the side of it, I think. But thanks, anyway. Not that I'm arguing, becuase what I know about aircraft could be written on a postage stamp. Twice!
Buccaneer It could be a MIG23 though The Buccaneers were used in the Gulf War as spotters for the laser guided missiles from the Tornado's http://www.vectorsite.net/avmig23.html
Same era, but that's about all they've got in common. Ditto what the others said, buccaneer and mig27
my mate would kick my arss if i didn't spot the first one was a Buccaneer i take it you mean the first the Gulf War
Just my gratitude, Jon - afraid there's no money. Went to Newark Air Museum today and mostly remembered to photograph the little notices alongside the planes, but forgot to with these two pictures, so had no idea what they were by the time I got home with my pictures. I got as far as guessing the second one was Russian. I was impressed by the huge Shackleton and a massive helicopter. May get around to putting some other pics up in the Photography forum when I have time. So, thanks, guys
The first is indeed a Buccaneer, it's a navy one and an S.1 (Mk1 in VW terms ) And the second is indeed a Mig27, front end reminds me of the nosecone on a Jaguar which is how I recognise it as a 27 A Jaguar
Here's some favourites of mine F104 Starfighter (The Widow Maker) Fast but handled like a B*tch F100 Super Sabre (Downed alot of MIG 19'S & 21's) F86 Sabre (Downed alot of MIG 17's)
Yes in Buccaneer's, Jaguar's and Tornado's Operation Granby http://www.blackburn-buccaneer.co.uk/0_Gulf-missions.html Here's my all time favourite Mach 6.72 X15 (Manned Rocket not really a Plane)
