Don't think it matters as most are mechical. Will come down to matching lighting with your dash colour. I went for innovate to match my clocks. But this was also to match the wideband gauge i'd chosen. I have white or amber lighting colour choice. Halfords do cheap ones. Not sure of the quality.
I've got one I bought from http://www.rspec.co.uk/ which is from this range http://www.rspec.co.uk/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=346 but with a silver bezel. Electrical sensor attaches to a 3mm pipe from the main boost pipe, then electrical to the guage. Yours for 25 shipped if it helps - comes with diagrams and all pipes and wiring etc. I'm changing to VDO guages purely for aesthetic reasons.
youre on. how do you want the money? can bank transfer for you or if youre anywhere near essex ill pick it up thanks fella
cheap is not always the key... id avoid very cheap ones, and the digial display ones too - I had 2 oil pressure gauages that were diginal display, both said at warm idle I had no oil pressure mine runs a SAGA gauge thats pretty much the same as the one above, ie electrical sensor that sends a signal to the gauge which has a stepper motor and a over boost warning and the ability to replay max boost etc. one word of warning though, make sure you joints are zip tied as when I re-did mine I checked it by adding a joiner to the other end and pressurising the system with a bike pump only to find the joint between the sensor pipe and my take off pipe even though over lapped by about 5cm was leaking... so it was sealed with 6 tiny zips pulled tight... no more leaks.
ive bought a TIM boost gauge off ebay, was brand new an cost 32 deliverd, its more accurate than the last autogauge one i had an this is more the erea of the car...
Couldn't agree more Stu. They would look great Been thinking of getting one for mine lately, but the only thing putting me off was having a big one stuck on the dash. Btw, are these hard to fit. Iirc, you need to pipe it into the DV or FPR using a t piece. Also where would you splice into for the lighting?
I've got one of these in my drivers vent in my mk4, Not too hard to fit, and the you tap into the the light switch for illumination.. Looks great too!
MOOK i received your guage, thank you very much. you didnt tell me it was brand new, thanks for offering it at a great price once ive had my suspension issues sorted ill get that fitted too thanks again
im just reluctant to loose the vent. they are handy! im going for a post of bottom right corner of the windscreen
Like this Matt - Will look great. You should do a How To picture write up on it, as i dont think there is one on here Are you going to run it off the DV?
yeah, ill run it off the dv line, either of them will be fine that pod would be good. still undecided :S
So the switches just pop out then. An hour isn't too bad really. Might have to order the both of them tomorrow.
Vent pod all day long! A pillar are a bit fast & furious. That's why I went for a custom column mount. You could always make your own. http://www.newsouthperformance.com/pod.htm
