As i am going to do a G60 conversion for my Mk2, there are a number of options available with regards to the charger. I have heard about Rotrex etc been banded around and would look at any option that is chepaer more reliable and of course more powerful than the G-Lader.

So what should i do and what are the technical conotations for it? :)

Does an Eaton M60 attach in a similar kind of way to a G-lader. Laymens terms please as I am not technically minded to the ins and outs of superchargers

Rotrex charger is the way to go it comes with a 150k miles warranty. if you buy the complete kit it comes with its own oil tank, cooler and pipes. Temp neva gets over 80 (g-ladder runs at the engine's oil temp)so you wont need to get uprated intercooler. It looks and sounds like a turbo and with some work on engine you could be looking at 275-280bhp thats how much my cars producing at 1.3bar of boost using rotrex.

Love to go the twin screw route but that will be expensive. Think i might get an engine up and running with a G-lader to begin with and take it from there.

the new eaton M62 found on mercs and stuff is comparable in performance to the screw chargers upto 12psi (0.8bar) after that intercooling is a huge issue, but then they can be taken to 18+psi.

do a search on vwvortex, put in eaton and search in posts rather than just titles, loads of info and peolpe with them installed already in G60's
