what engine is best for turbocharging?

    hello

    i've got a 77 GTi and i want to have a turbo engine. i want to know what's the best engine for turbo. first i was thinking about the ABF or the 2E with a 16v head but then i saw a kr with s2 internals and turbo? i want to achieve ~300bhp...

    so what is the best engine for?

    its the best motor out there, next to the 2.0 tfsi motors

    A few options like 2.0 abf with stacked gaskets (not a fan of that idea myself), 2.0 8v like 2E or AGG with 16v head.
    The same could be done with 1.8 engines too.
    Or be different and go for a crossflow head with tdi exhaust manifold and bespoke inlet similar to jettadans. Good, as it is a pretty compact unit to fit in a mk1 too.

    1.8T---why do you need so many valves when the charge is being forced into the cylinders!

    Bring on the 8v revolution!:thumbup:
