What is considered to be the best VW?

I know I like the MK2 Golf GTI and VR6's but what is the best VW?

I drive a scoob and the 22B is the God of the scoobs, with the P1 after that.

I was wondering what people consider to be the best VW ever made and why?

 

mk1 golf gti, years ahead of its time

 

The VW world is more complex that the scoob one.

22B = quicker than P1 at a quess.

Golf Mk1 GTI - THE daddy of them all
Beetle - The one and only..undeniably a classic
the list goes on.

 

I'd say Corrado VR6. for the noise, handling and the looks too.

the thing about VWs is there are a lot of very good ones, different people will have different ideas.

Not like your scoobies where at the end of the day they are all different variations of the same car

 

Golf RAllye VR6 for me....but then thats not standard, and probably only cos I have one.


Other than that I'd agree with Jeff. The Corrado Vr6 is still considered as one of the best handling FWD Sport Coupe thingys around, I believe.

 

you do have a point, the 22b is the king of the hairdresser cars.

Thanks for the replies, you are right in saying that the scoob has many variations, I still love mine though (it's my girlie car ).

 

thats because people refer to the "Impreza" as a Scooby, but Subaru do make more than just one car!!!

so shouldnt your question be something like which is the best golf?

I could have asked what the best Golf is etc but then it would have limited the question. I was curious to if there was a VW that everyone would like.

As I've always said, I love VW's (hence why I post on here).

There are quite a few different Subaru cars but the Impreza is the main one that people refer to.

not many people sl*g off Corrado VR6's, and it still is an EVO 5* car, so I'd put my money on that being the best drivers VW. shame there isnt a new VW coupe, it would probably do well in competition with the astra coupe, celica, hyundi etc...

 

there is no best VW, it's all down to personal choice and opinion...although if you held a vote then the corrado vr6 would probably get the majority vote. i would have to say that i personally prefer the golf (albeit not with standard handling! ), but the actual vr6 engine is the best thing to come out of VW imo.

 

Well its so subjective...Im weird you see so for me, its mine! I cant think of another model in the current line up Id rather have, not even an R32.

Including VWs throughout time, too many to consider...

 

Corrado VR6.....

Shame they don't make 'em like they used to (No VW sport coupe )... I guess they're too wary of stepping on their own toes and competing against other VAG products (eg Leon Cupra R-type, Audi TT, top spec S3 etc).....

 

But as other have said, its horses for courses.... and the VW range is aimed at different markets.. so as far as 'drivers cars' go, I feel that the Corrado is best.. but then the Corrado, Sharan, Transporter, Caddy etc are all aimed at very different markets.....

Likewise the Golf has that little bit more practicality than a full fledged coupe... so I don't think the R32 is in anyway a Corrado successor... more an evolution of the original (Mk1/Mk2) GTi ethos
