what is fis?

    sorry if this sounds like a daft question but what are fis clocks?

    only reason i ask is i got a set of clocks with my 4mo lump and everyone asks if they are fis or not?

    It means `Fahrerinformationsystem`.

    There`s two type of clocks; one where the MFD (Multi Function Display) is `full height` (on cars with SatNav/MF steering wheel), and the other is `half-height`(on more basic models).

    Full height MFD, ie `FIS`;

    I have the half hight on my T plate 1.8T GTI...... could I have the full hight set?
