What is this tool????

    I took my scirocco to have a few things sorted out today and teh guy was using a multimeter type instrument but with a difference:

    it connected to the battery negative and battery positive and had a further 2 wires which could be used to test things by pressing a switch and it would check for earths/ see if the component worked.

    anyone know what this is?? I wouldn't mind buying one rather than running strands of wire from my battery and doing it that way!!

    yeh think u can check if the wires have plus or earth then which ever it is like earth u can give a pulse from that tool i think [:s]

    yeah that sounds like it.

    i looked on machine mart for "multimeter" but nothing similar

    hope someone can help!! [:$]

    no not like that one

    more like this:

    it has 2 crocodile clips, a separate earth and a separte positive and then a little box with a swicth on

    it defo. has 2 crocodile clips though. so you can test the operation of stuff direct from the battery [:$]

    do you have any links to that product in full??

    that may indeed be the one providing it has 2 crocodile leads and 2 other leads

    looks good but i need to be certain.

    been as it says you can power up stuff before fitting then that prob. means it runs off the battery direct right??

    thanks for both your inputs,

    i think i'll buy the one amzee has suggested then as its only 23.95

    I'll wait till I get my wiper stalks first as this may well solve my problem.
