    Hey,

Im from Canada, and have a 1984 GTI.

I was wondering what size speakers I have in my car?

I have been told the fronts are 3.5" and the backs are 4x6" is this true?

I have also heard that 4x6" aftermarket Speakers (if those are the back size) wont fit because of the stock speaker clips is this true? Or will 4x6" aftermarket speakers bolt right in if thats the size?

    Thanks!

I just want to be sure they will bolt right in.

I know those speakers are cheap but one of my back ones is blown and im on a budget, so thats a quick fix.

    Thanks!

you might need to trim a bit off the mounting area on those speakers but they will fit.the front dash speakers are 8cmm diameter

    is an 84 golf/rabit an mk1??

if so i think you do need 3.5 speekers in the front, i couldent get the right size so had to fit 4"x6" and they were a nightmare to fit.

yes, but you may need to trim some of the thin metal off around the corners.
