Hi chaps with winter on its way and me wanting to preserve my polished wheels I've bought some g60 steel wheels and some centre caps but not the black ones.

I was wondering if my wheel bolts that hold my alloys on will be ok to use on the steel wheels and if they will hold the caps on ?

Yes your alloy ones will do your steels just fine
They should hold the caps on as there is like a rim between the stud and the wheel...
So wheels no problem alloy bolts are fine, caps I would say yes ...but Suck it and see ;)

your alloy wheel bolts should have a taper which them caps will clip onto

Make sure the taper on your wheel nuts matches the taper in the rims. If not, down to s scrappy and whip a set out of any older Vag. Mk3 era.

Are the seats on the wheels tapered or radius seat?

what wheels have you got now? if they're aftermarket they may be runnign taper seat bolts which aren't correct for G60 steels, what you need is a set of standard VW wheel bolts with a radius seat

In case you run into problems, the wire clips which fit into those 'cages' on the centre cap were available with different effective heights, to cater for different central depressions in various wheels.
