just been on ebay and saw this comment on a turbo gti for sale "The mass airflow sensor needs changing - this is due to me previously putting on a K&N panel filter (common issue). Standard air filter now fitted"

is this true ,if I fit a after market induction kit will it mess up the MAF sensor ? I want to fit a Ramair kit , not so sure now ?

Ramair no longer oil their filters so you shouldn't have any problems with that.

I've been running my Mk2 1.8T with a RamAir filter for a while now with no problems.

As said above, you don't have to oil them like the K&N filters.

What does it mean? It means the seller's a bell end and has over-oiled the filter or oiled it on the MAF side, not the intake side.

A properly cleaned and oiled filter, be it a K&N or any other sort will NOT fubar the MAF. End of.
