Thought i'd ask in here as this happened on a track so you may have experienced similar issues, this is the worst of my tyres after they were used at rockingham on sunday (not on my car)

They seem to have deteriorated fairly rapidly to this state after only a 20 minute session,
any thoughts on whats happened and how it will affect the tyres? (are they boogered in other words)

i would say they look ok but im used to seeing tyres with rubber pick up all over them... looks like they got nice and hot and sticky and someone gave it a good drive..

wasn't me unfortunately! my mate borrowed them to take his 172 round rockingham, the rears came off a lot worse than the front for some reason, odd as they spent most of the time taking it in turns to be off the ground!

Ok cheers guys, didn't think it would be too much of an issue but best to check as they're fairly important being that they're all that connects the car to the road!

Just stick em on your car and they will look fine after you go up the road, its just serface graining, totally normal for road tyres to do on the track. i should imagne there a fairly hard compound (federal, firestone, bridgestone?)

yea they will be fine then, softer tyres do the same but the rubber movement is alot more, so looks much worse.
