No, I'm not selling it. I'll have to tell the insurance about the VR conversion soon, just wanting to put a price on it

I just thought that'd I'd gone the cheapest route to getting a 1994 VR6 by buying an 8v in the first place (3100) and converting it to a VR6 myself.

Straight away, even with a standard VR in it it's got to be worth 4500 minimum, probably 5000. (car has done 72K, new engine about the same).

But with all the bits what do you reckon it's value is now?

    Brief spec:-

    2.9 VR6
    268 cams
    Gas flowed head
    Turn2crank pulley
    Alloy flywheel
    Brand new radiator
Samco hoses with stainless steel clamps
    Vibratechnics engine mounts all round
    Helix clutch
    6 speed close ratio box
    Peloquin diff
    Schrick manifold
    Ram Air filter
    H&R suspension
    Polished wheels
    Powerflex Poly bushes
288brakes and wide track VR6 hubs (and rear axle).
    Braided brake hoses
    Rieger grille
    Autometer gauges
Stock interior and bodywork (for now).
    Tracker
    Clifford Alarm

All bolts and gaskets and seal in the front end are either brand new or stainless steel and the engine is concourse clean and I'd guess about 210BHP.

and how mch do you think adding the 4WD will put the value up?

well, if its for agreed value purposes i guess you have to add the mods up and come up with a 'realistic' figure, however silly it might amount to.

On the other hand if it was for resale purposes then I honest havent a clue....7k maybe?

i'd swap it for mine, and mine was cheap at 6k last October! ;)

Putting a price on all that is hard though really, but around 8k ish perhaps.

    phats,

    are you insured with HIC?

then their agreed value amounts to effectively how much it would cost to replace the car, if it came to a write off.

Time to get the calculator out.

Also you do a lot of stuff yourself and you can't put a price on that.

What you can do though is give them an idea of the amount of money it would cost you to pay someone else to do the work for you.

Then they can have no justification not to give you whatever agreed value you like......ie. 10k!

btw.....why have you kept your block orange? why not paint it purple(too late now i know) but still!

    Yes with HIC.

I don't want fully comp insurance. If I bend it I'll fix it, I don't want it taking away to a bodyshop of thier choice.

It's got a tracker on it and a top of the range alarm too so I can't see it going missing.

I hate having to pay insurance, becasue I'd only ever claim if it was a complete and total loss or got nicked, that's why it's on TPFT at the moment, to keep it cheap.

Block is still orange because I don't like purple!

Gotta be ten plus in terms of actual value maybe 12 ish, that Futrell MK1 was 14K, suppose it was pretty serious.
I'd want to push for agreed value of at least ten thousand. But knowing insurance companies they'd probably think more like 8 ish.

Props for that car though, serious machine, well done.

nah there isn't any rule saying your car has to be insured fully comp but anyone with any sense would insure a car worth 5K plus with fully comp.

i think your a brave man if you dont insure it fully comp. Say you have a moment of crazyness and totally stack it, i wouldnt like to lose 8K or whatever it is costing you.
