It's on the front of the engine block of a 1.6 8v EZ engine, below the thermostat housing. It's been fitted with some PTFE tape and I think it's leaking coolant, but the leak could be coming from elsewhere. There's a 2nd similar bolt hole to the left which is empty and not leaking.
Does anyone know what it is and if it normally has a bolt in it? I'd like to know more before i take it out!

shouldn't have a bolt in there and certainly shouldn't leak coolant. if that's where its coming from I would suggest a shorter bolt with a sealing washer under the head
