Just considering replacing some of those blue, red & black woven hoses that attach to wastegate control units.

I don't need "looka me, I've been messed about with " Samco hoses on a daily driver I'll one day sell, so can anyone recommend a reasonable source?

The VW dealer seemed to think 15 for a metre and a half was good value. I didn't :o

Sorry, Chris, I don't know of any shops/online stores, but depending on how quickly you need to replace them (just to freshen up or have they deteriorated too much?) then it might be worthwhile waiting until the Autosport show.

I'm guessing you'll be going - last year we got some hosing for a Mk1 engine conversion and it was good stuff but a lot cheaper than we'd seen it anywhere else. The guy had a whole section of his (large) stand dedicated to hosing.

Are they the silocone hoses that look like samco's? Or are you talking about something else?
I could do with new hoses really, and would be interested in some.

Good idea Rich - I think I've seen these sort of people at Classic car shows also, selling fuel hosing and the like, though not sure whether they have the smaller dia boost stuff.

Just chasing boost issues and I may need to replace hoses once pressure checked.

Can't think which stand at the Autosport I might get it, but will keep a beady eye when I'm there.

Sort of, but without being shiny. Woven fabric/thread outer.

We were just walking around and came across the stand amongst the other traders. He wasn't just selling hosing - tools etc as well - but had pre-cut hoses in bags ready for sale and then rolls/spools of hosing for cutting to size on a big wall on one side of the stand.

He had all sorts - copper lines (fuel/brake line - like micro-bore heating stuff) in all different sizes, rubber, silicon, metal/thread braided rubber...

Nope, OE woven braided stuff needed pls. Cannot be doing with up-spec kit in an otherwise std bonnet.

Dex has a week to come up with enough explosive to put it into orbit . Or it goes to the scrapper!

Used to be the same stuff as diesel overspill pipe (Diameter was only slightly different but would fit ok) but GSF only do vacuum pipe thats not resistant to diesel in black cloth......... if that makes sense to you

Short answer is GSF do it in black cloth

I get it from the local VW specialist 1.50 a meter I think, exactly the same as the woven VW pipe.

Oe cloth woven stuff is utter rubbish, rubber goes brittle, cracks and cloth flares and frays.

    have fun.

    ;)
