    Hi all,

I replaced my battery today and dropped the bolt that fixes the little plate which holds the battery down. I need to replace the bolt but I don't know it's specifications.
Does anybody know where I can find out? -

It's not in the workshop manual, but would probably be on the schematics that dealers use, although I can't find a copy of them. I anybody happens to know off the top of their head, that would be awesome; disturbing, but awesome.

    Cheers,
    Jamie

    M8 x 1.25 is common in Mk1 & Mk2 Golfs.

A bolt has part thread, part plain. A screw has threads all the way down. In case you buy one from a nut/bolt supplier. You are probably best to buy a mixed selection box of 100 pieces for less than a tenner. Screwfix?

    Hi Chris, Jon, John,

Really appreciate your help here. If I can't get the bolt in Halfrauds then I'll swing by a shop in town that I know of. Failing that then, yea, screwfix is an option. Atleast I have the size now!

    Thanks again, much appreciated,
    Jamie

Walk into any hardware shop and ask them for an M8 x 30mm bolt and a flat washer to go!
