Find the one you want and do a google uk search on it, then you can find the cheapest place I have a Sony unit and I recommend it, apart from it always puts my leccy aerial up even if I'm not listening to the radio...
I was really pleased with www.letsbuycaraudio.com... naff name, ugly site, but cheap (and didn't let me down). I've been to their shop in Burbage (Leics) as well, which is fine, so I don't think they're 'fly by night' merchants
I got most of my kit from these guys...good, quick service... although when one of my 6*9's stopped workin, and they said i shud post it in for a warrenty check, they got funny. I sent the package to them recorded deliver...and they recieved it fone...but then they fone me and tell me that someone has been into the box, opened it and fecked the emit tweeters on the box...to which i get quite p*****. I then get in touch with royal mail, and they tell me that insurance will cover this, and i shud get the value of my speakers back...so i think cool. Then i get in touch with letsbuycaraudio, and let them know what address to post the speakers to...they fone me the next day and say they;ve dun them...but roal mail receive nothing for a week and a half. eventually the speakers get there...and royal mail look at the info, and say no to my insurance claim!!!! It looks like letsbuycaraudio actually cudn't be bothered to deal with the warranty issue, so fuked the speaker themselves, and tried to tell me that they cudn;t do anything! I eventually got my money back through an hour of argueing with the manager and the insrance office at RM, and he stated that they did not take responsibility, but out of a jesture of goodwill are giving me my money! U decide! Other than that my mate only last month bought a sub, and amp from letsbuycaraudio and everything was spot on!
Its the Sony MP40, but they arn't sold any more! Got it for 120 online, search for ones with a similar price and you'll find the replacement model...
Found a couple of links for the CDX-R3300 which I got for my girlfriend, free upgrade cos they had no MP40s left : linky1 linky2 Its cool, you slide the top bit down and then click it, then the cd ejects (the bit that says 'open eject'). This way the whole faceplate doesn't need to flip down so it fits more securely than the average flip front headunit. Edited by: rubjonny
