    Hello people
to add to my long list of random questions I ask of you GTi gods, heres another one...

Am travelling to Germany and Austria in May for worthersee and some general tourist type stuff.

I would like to pick up a cheap mk2 rally while over there to bring back home.
Any recommendations on where to start looking or my chances?

The reason I ask is I won't have heaps of time when I get there.
    Cheers

I have been looking and I dont really think cheap Rallyes exist anymore. A lot of them are in the uk now. I bought mine from Holland back in 2000 for just over 4000. The strength of the euro isnt helping either.

are you really sure you want a cheap one ?

alot of em are rusted to hell now , maybe you dont get to see rotten cars like we do and dont realise..but im talking serious holes and lots of welding etc , but why import a heap then spend $$$$$ having it patched up , and panels are hard to come by now

id look on ebay.de and mobil.de

I do want a cheap one, rust isn't an issue, the more the better.
I only want it for the floor panels and syncro gear.
The reason I thought it better to get a complete car was that it would have all the parts that would be annoying to find, like fuel tank etc etc.

Unless anyone can advise me where I can find a "complete mk2 syncro" conversion from?

awesome, thanks for the info guys, keep them coming.
They do seem a bit pricey.

Can you bolt an audi tt box and rear diff straight into a rallye? or with minimal mods?

HA ha that orange 4 grand one comes with a free front to rear strut brace! Looks a bit dodgey
