Sorry if this is not in the correct section, but does anybody know where to get something similar to the towing eyes on the left? I found the pic on vortex I think, but cannot find a supplier. Had a quick look at the usual suspects in the uk but could not see anything

    Thanks,

Those in the link are more industrial in appearance though.

They are industrial lifting eyes. They are also strong enough to pick the car up with. Having recovered a few cars that have been well embedded in the scenery, I go with strength over looks.

Martin's more choosy than that IMO - and it's reflected in his car.

    Thanks for the links yeha.

Chris, thanks I think...some would say choosy, others would say a pain in the ars*!!

I found them in the build thread of the crazy Norweigan guy who is building the Mk2 16vT Mid-Engine RWD Race car (pg 45).

Found the link again, so they are from here.

Just wanted to know if anybody had seen anything similar in the uk to save getting it from the us.

    Thanks,

    Martin

Me neither, presume they had not listed them on the website unless I have the wrong dieselgeek?

    He originally said:

"There have also arrived some new parts, tow hooks and the shortshift from dieselgeek, wich I got on my door 3 days after I ordered it, SUPER Service!!"

    Looks good fitted!

    Howdy

They are also the same as used on Porsche Cup cars I do believe. They need to be watched carefully as unlike the lightweight plate type that bend when you try and move a car, these snap where the threaded shaft goes into the block that has the swivelling hook on the other end. Not common but it does happen. It is common for people who transport cars with these types of tow eye to carry a couple of spares, just in case.

I originally wanted a strap jabbalad but could not find one.

Will have a squint at the 09 catalogue  never noticed it first flick through.

EDIT. It is on pg 449 for those who are interested, may order up a couple of them as well. Schroth stuff is normally pretty good quality.

Do these fit any car or do you have to specify what model?
