just wired my front speakers in i got some bass now but it still sounds a bit crap i think i may have the polarity wrong does anyone know which is + and - on the mk3 golf the wires on both sides of the car are the same as each other so i just guessed i had a look at my haynes and the colours in the diagrams are different to whats in my car , any help would be great..
    cheers :)

The polarity wont make any difference to the sound to be honest.

It is more than likely that the front speakers aren't sounding too great as they are run off a headunit. Ideally the fronts should be run off a small amp.

I can do you an Alpine V12 Mono Power Amplifier MRD-M300 for 50 delivered, that would be perfect to run a sub. You can then buy a sub and have money left over for an amp to power the fronts.

im afraid im low on funds this time of year or i would have bought it off ya, not that i would know what i was doing with it lol..
as i said im no ICE expert to say the least, im even confused at what im supposed to do with the speakers i just put in they sound crap, is it because they need to be amped ? im gonna do without a sub for now i just want some nice sounds for a change i thought by buying 200 watt triaxial speakers i would solve my problem i tried to disconnect the tweeters in the dash but the main speaker went off [:s] what im trying to do is get rid of all the speakers and just have 2 in the doors and then later on ill add a sub, but for now i just dont know what im doing i was hoping you guys might be able to advise me on what to do

They're 200W 'Peak' power, the RMS is 35W so would need an amp to run them ideally.

Even then the sound wont be great as like you say you pay yer money etc.
