Can anybody help or confirm which drive belt I need for the mk2.
It's an Audi ACE 2.0 engine, non-pas, no A/C with KR head running the KR alt setup. Old belt is done and no numbers on it. I'm thinking it should be a 10x950?
I'm guessing the taller block makes no difference as there's enough adjustment to take up the slack.

The ACE block is the same size as the KR it's the ABF that's 15-16mm taller so a non pas belt for the KR should be the one you'r looking for.

Cool, thanks. Going out to work on it shortly. Just brought the 10x950 belt home.

even if it was a tall block the tallness doesnt effect the aux belt lengths anyway, the extra length is on the top of the block and only effects the timing belt.

so ja its std belt for a kr if you're using kr alternator setup

All fitted and squeeling stopped. I reckon there was over 60k or 7+years on the old one, was hanging there by a thread.
Although someone had bodged it before so I'll need to pick up the toothed adjuster n bolt to keep it right.

That's what I thought but I'm told these ones we sell are a direct fit, even prints on the docket "N/S REAR CALIPER (NEW)GOLF MK4 TO FIT MK2/3/4 - 08/99" ECP No. 133441955 / 1965

Also I've a goodgrdge kit all round so i'll have a look first to see if there's anything else required before I start the job.

edit: I was being told porkies, still need hoses as I thought. Found some from a 1998 Passat that will work with the right banjo attachment and inner connection, just means downgrading from stainless to rubber in the meantime til I get goodridges to replace.
