Any reason why this and not others? I had a browse on the seat forum and i think there was a topic about some dump valve working better on chipped cars, im planning on chipping mine.

DV30 - This has been manufactured as a direct replacement for the unreliable factory fitted Bosch valve that is fitted to many modern turbocharged cars. It has all the benefits of a piston design, but with a less audible whoosh. This is a standalone product and does not require an additional fitting kit.
I want it loud though, not less audible [:s]
    why dv30 and not dv26?

Your not gonna get a really loud DV for the 1.8T - it needs a recirc type so that the metered air is kept in the system.

This stops the engine going really rich after the air is dumped to atmosphere (I think ?)

The loud valves are the ones that dump the air out of the system, although it can be heard better if you fit a cone filter. ;)

just got a forge number to replace the OEm recirc one, works a treat, can't say I ever heard the old one, and this one is no different in noise.

    ignore what i said earlier!
Can't say I normally drive round in winter with the windows down but the were frosted up this evening and I put it down to pull out of a junction.

Bloody dump valve is much noisier than the old one.
Not "Chav's in Dad's Impreza" noisy, but you can hear the air rushing though it a lot more.
