As I would like to (when I come to do it) do the majority of the work myself..

what have most folk on here with 20vts used for their engine management?

As far as I can tell Motec seems to be one of the best.

Engines I just about understand.... engine management?

    I'll get my coat

20vt management seems to be fine, once it's been sorted by 800g's....

Motec has the ability to have traction control, launch control etc and so many add ons. It comes at a price though. Dont expect to get much change out of 2000.

DTA is the affordable choice and Vince at Stealth Racing(being fairly local to you) is a master at mapping it.

I've got Emerald. Doesn't seem to be a popular choice from what I've read in other posts but my car runs fine.

If you're near somebody that maps DTA that might be the sensible choice for you? I'm no expert [:^(] but it seems to me the mapping is more important then the system itself.

More than happy mate, think its around 700-800 bucks.

BUT you have to pay 400 for mapping with vince, so bear that in mind. If you want to know how happy i am with it, go have a look for my bmw zm3 thread ;)

Im pretty sure that if you buy the DTA from Vince that it includes mapping. Thats what Stef told me, but i may have heard wrong.

Well it sounds like DTA is definately the best option and from what I understand may make the whole transplant slightly less of a headache.

Does using DTA/Emerald solve any of the wiring loom/ecu issues involved with the swap and will I still need 1.8t ignition bits and keys?
