Which is best spec of mk4 tdi

Im thinking about getting a mk 4 golf tdi just wonderdering which is the best spec to go for ?
And whats the diff between the colour in the TDI ? Many thanks Lee,
more bhp as standard the better if possible

 

The 150BHP is the one to go for - badged as a GTI with sports suspension and front mounted intercooler...

Tbh, I think caution should be applied in generalisations such as yours. Theres no sense putting people off unnecessarily.

Afaik, h/g's on AJM engines / variants isn't a common phenomenon - yours is the first I've heard of for a very long time.

I think you've just been unlucky, especially as it took the head out as well.

I have always though go for the best spec that you can afford.

 

In what sense?

Anythings possible with mk5, as it's essentially changed a fair bit - new head, different block.

However, the resources vag plough into R&D, you'd think it was fairly bullet proof.
