    Hi!

I have a friend that has a Audi A4 1.8T and was thinking about the possibility of getting it chipped!

Which chip to get? Revo? Jabba? SuperChips?
He wants to have something that he can remove so he can get the car to stock form when getting in a garage for a repair or similar.

I know Revo does the OBD chip, as well as SuperChips.

    Which do you recomend?

    Thanks!

Do they have the OBD chip, that you can remove at any time and set the car back to normal?
    Thanks for the input!

Without being to pedantic, the above are not chips. They are re-flashes, so they sit in the ECU chip until erased or replaced.
    So, yes is your answer.

I have Revo, which has the SPS3 to adjust the settings. This is where you turn off the re-map.
It is more expensive though, at 399 I think.

    Yes, basically.

The switch allows you to choose between different maps, and upload altered individual parameters such as boost.

You can adjust the Me7 ecu with the free softwares names above...
adjust timing up and down, turn down load % (boost), add fueling on increasing load, decreasing load etc
You need a vag-com type cable.
    REVO's version is called Lemmiwinks
Custom Code's version is called Custom Settings
    Unitronics is called Unisettings

So in the context of the question "can it be turned off*, yes it can be turned down to stock levels (essentially off) with the above free software

google search will find these for you

    Ah, ok!
So, from the little research I've done, this is something that is free of charge, but can only use after a certain remap. Only then you can download, install and use without anything else other than the VAG cable.

BTW, I have a A3 AGU (DBC) and I think it's a ME3.5 (think...) ECU. Will this work as well?
