Which Sat Nav system?

    I want to get a sat nav system for the car, are there any that anyone can reccommend or have had experiences with?

    Argos are doing some cheapish ones at the moment

    Flicking through their new catalogue at the weekend, theve also started doing "modding" stuff for cars........ mostly suited to nova and corsa drivers i'd say though [xx(] :lol:

    ipaq with a gps sensor and a hooky copy of tomtom ;)

    cheap as chips!

    call me cheap but how is it worth that much money? 500 for a little box to tell you which way to turn, i could buy a map book and an immigrant to sit in my passenger seat telling me where to go for less than that!

    hey its cheaper than sat nav, plus when i'm not in the car he does odd jobs around the house [:D]

    Cheers for the responses.. the immigrant idea is on hold! :lol:

    TomToms seem a good option, but they just seem a bit big and chunky!

    Can u tell me a bit more about the ipaq with a gps sensor.... how do i go about that? where from? pic?

    You can get Tom Tom on the IPAQ, I've got all the speed camera databases and postcode finder on as well

    can get you a brnad new ipaq with everything you need for about 350 if you're interested?!

    Can probably find cheap solutions on ebay.

    Get a Bluetooth phone that runs Symbian and do it on there. Doesn't even
    have to be your main phone. You can get a 7650 (for example) for 30 on
    eBay, GPS receiver for 50 and copy the software off a mate.

    I'm selling my PDA and cabled GPS (got car kit and everything) as I
    have an XDA and bluetooth GPS now. It's the kit Aldi did about 9 months
    ago for 270 - PM me an offer if you're interested. Can sort you out a
    copy of the latest TomTom too.

    I got Ipaq PDA and Navman GPS,which is portable,and downloaded TomTom (which is by far the best)all for 200 [:D]

    Where do you download tomtom from then? Do you not need a code or something to activate it?
