    Hey,

I'm running (or trying to) get a starter for a 2L ABF, with an 020 diesel gearbox and a Mk2 16v flywheel. Will a normal 16v starter be ok (and will it fit)?

    Thanks,

    Kevin

Yes, 16V is fine - they all suit I believe, even the Mk1 starters. Mk2 TDi starter is best, if you fall over one - they turn faster.

Thanks very much. It's just that i've tried my old mk1 1800 one, but there were 2 spade connections (as well as the main positive connection). I think i put the ignition positive on the wrong terminal as now it doesn't want to move how ever i try to connect it. So i'm on the hunt for a new one and they list so many on the German and swedish website.
    Thanks again.
