Anyone got any ideas on what the best 12" sub might be. Looking to get one second hand and considering JL Audio W3 or Kicker Solobraic?...

Either are quality bits of kit but be a bit careful with second hand subs that they have been looked after and housed in the correct box. Some subs when monuted incorrectly or in the wrong box can get hammered because they are flapping about and as soon as you box them up properly they blow.

Infinity Perfect 12" are also a nice warm sub.

I have the Kicker L7 in my car. The bass is strong without being overwhelming but it does help if you balance it out with decent front speakers.

L7, but which size and what box? L7 is nothing compared to its predecesor which had a much better balance of going loud and still sounding awesome.

L7 is great if you want a boomer of a sub

depends how the OP defines 'best'

depends on budget too i suppose

if you want to go mad, get your 15" in a ported/slot ported box. you end up with so much more efficiency it should be silly loud [:D]
