Just wondering which vacuum line to tap for a boost gauge ?

Someone has suggested using the FPR line, but I'm not sure I want to use this.

Can it be tapped off the dv vacuum line, or one of the nipples on the inlet manifold ?

    Just wanting best results really.

    Cheers. Rich. :)

you not got a spare nipple lol to use on the bottom of the manifold?

Ive two of the small size, one i've used just for the FPR, the other i've split between the boost gauge and the vac line for the MFA.
now I just need to wire up some power to the gauge and fill the tank with some more fuel to see if it works.

on the manifold would be the best bet, as thats boost pressure the engine is getting

    Cheers guys

I think i'll go for the spare nipple off the inlet for mine.

Just need to wire it up now.

Im still undecided where to put my gauge panel, which is the same size as the radio. Do i cut the centre console and relocate the radio there, to make room for the gauges, or vice versa ?

    Decisions decisions lol

Out of interest - from where do you run the takeoff for the actuator?

Actuator takeoff comes from the N75 valve on the inlet pipe.

FPR or inlet mani is best for the boost gauge as it will give the most accurate reading

Sadly, having never owned a boosted VW, I have no idea what an N75 valve is :) Where in the system is the inlet pipe - immediately before the throttle body?

FYI; you`ll have trouble reading "boost" if you tap into the "vacuum" system.

I used this diagram (courtesy of TDIClub) when I put a boost gauge on the TDI Mk3, but equally applies to your 1.8T (in terms of where to tap in at least...)
